Debbie and Bill Sherman:
Parents of 5 children, ages 2 - 19. Their youngest, Jaden, was adopted from Hong Kong in December, 2004. Jaden has Down syndrome, as does Jenessa, their 5 yr old biological daughter.
Debbie Sherman:

Debbie is an author, speaker, and advocate in the Down syndrome community. She was recently a keynote speaker at the Oregon Parent Training Institute's annual conference, and has spoken at Buddy Walks, to nursing students, at disability conferences, and more. She brings new ideas, offers support and suggestions, and challenges parents and medical professionals to expect (and get!) more from these very abled children.

Bill Sherman:
Treasurer
Bill was the co-creator of the Seaside Invitational Chowder Cook-Off, which benefited the Make A Wish Foundation. He co-produced the event for it's first two years. He has also volunteered as a water-ski instructor and boat driver for the Oregon Water-Ski School for the Blind. He is a strong advocate for his children, and is looking forward to forging a strong awareness for persons with Down syndrome through the NCDSN.

Randy Anderson:

Randy is a single parent who lives with his beautiful daughter Whitney in Seaside, Oregon.He is a very strong advocate for Whitney, who is 11 years old and has Down syndrome.
He is currently the President of the Board of Directors of the Oregon Parent Training and Information Center. (ORPTI ) The ORPTI's mission is to educate and support parents, family and professionals in building partnerships that meet the needs of children and youth with disabilities. He is also an IEP Partner with the ORPTI. An IEP Partner attends IEP meetings with the parents as a support person.
Randy is a long time member of the Clatsop County Early Childhood Advisory Group, (formerly LICC) which serves as an advisory group for multiple agencies which provides early childhood programs/services within Clatsop County. The agencies include: NWRESD-EI/ECSE, Caring Options, Healthy Start, (formerly known as Healthy Families) and Commission on Children and Families ( birth to 8 yrs.)
Randy is a strong supporter of Special Olympics Oregon and is a coach, finance manager and youth outreach recruiter for Clatsop County.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Styleshock Powerboosters/Team Shine Special Needs All-Star Cheerleaders

Tracie Bailey :

Tracie lives in Mohler, Oregon and is the adoptive parent of 4 year old Nicholas who has Down syndrome. She is also the adoptive parent of one and a half year old Mikal, and a foster parent. Tracie enjoys watersking, the outdoors, the laughter of children and is very active in her community church. Tracie invests in real estate and remodels for a living.

John Chapman:

John Chapman brings to the board vast experience with much community involvement. He was the Director of the Miss Clatsop County pageant for 8 years, and worked with them for over 10 years. He is also a past Board Member of the Miss Oregon Pageant and the Kiwanis Club. He served on the Seaside Budget Committee and Seaside Advertising Committee. He's a past organizer for the March of Dimes, and currently the Operations Manager for Calcomm Stations KSWB 840 AM and KCBZ 96.5. He is also co-owner of KSWB 840 AM. John first worked with disabled children in England while attending college. He enjoyed it immensely and treasures that experience. He is married to Karen, and has 5 beautiful children. John will be our Public Relations Director.

Julie Chase Chick:

Mostly Julie lives to be outside, whether it be in the mountains, at the river or on the beach. She has two sons, Blake who was born with Down syndrome,and his little brother Noah. (They are quickly learning about the outdoors too!) Currently she is working on several projects that help inspire others to get involved in Oregon's North Coast recreational opportunities. She is an advocate for outdoor recreation for kids, especially children with special needs.
